About Us

Founded on a better idea.

Two brothers who saw a smarter, safer way to destroy data — and built a company around it. Twenty years later, their original insight still drives everything we do.

The problem everyone else ignored

In 2006, the standard approach to hard drive destruction was simple: box up your drives, hand them to a vendor, and hope for the best. The drives left your building, disappeared into a truck, and came back as a certificate that said “destroyed.” You had no idea what actually happened to them.

Phil and Jim Saraiva saw what everyone in the industry had accepted as normal and asked a different question: Why are we transporting the risk instead of eliminating it?

The answer was obvious once you asked it. Bring the shredder to the client. Destroy everything on-site. Let the client watch it happen. Issue a certificate backed by serial numbers, not faith.

Building the company around that idea

Corporate Destruction Solutions launched with a single mobile shredding unit and one commitment: your data never leaves your building intact. That model turned out to be exactly what businesses, hospitals, law firms, and government agencies had been waiting for.

We’ve grown considerably since 2006, but the core idea hasn’t changed. Every service we offer — hard drive shredding, electronic recycling, erasure and degaussing — is designed around on-site execution, full documentation, and verified destruction. The chain of custody is never broken because it never starts until we’re already at your location.

Leadership

The people behind CDS

Phil Saraiva

Phil co-founded Corporate Destruction Solutions in 2006 with a straightforward conviction: businesses deserved better than the “send it away and trust us” model that dominated the industry. With a background in operations and a deep understanding of how data security failures actually happen, Phil built CDS around the principle that verification — not documentation — is the foundation of real security.

Phil oversees operations, vendor relationships, and the company’s ongoing pursuit of the highest industry certifications. His hands-on approach means that every technician who works for CDS meets the same standards he set at the beginning: background-checked, uniformed, trained, and accountable.

Jim Saraiva

Jim joined Phil at the founding of CDS in 2006, bringing a client-first perspective that has shaped how the company communicates with and serves its customers. Where Phil focuses on operational precision, Jim focuses on the relationship — making sure every client understands what they’re getting, why it matters, and how to work with CDS to stay compliant as regulations evolve.

Jim leads business development and client services, and has helped build CDS into the trusted partner of choice for healthcare organizations, financial institutions, legal firms, and corporations across New England. His commitment to plain-spoken, no-surprise service is reflected in every client interaction.
